After DASSH, I would like to study social work. I have met a lot of social worker and every time I get to talk to them I just get more inspired to become one. All the experiences and lessons I learned will be put into good use.

While I was working in Downtown Eastside, I received an offer to work as a mental health worker at Coast Mental Health. Applying everything that I learned from studying and working was very fulfilling. My passion is to be able to work with with vulnerable youth and marginalized people and be able to be their support for them to know that there are people who believes in them.

I didn't expect everything that had come my way but I am very grateful for all the opportunities that I received.

This was an interesting, eventful, but amazing job that I had. Working at Downtown Eastside brought out the passion I have for supporting women of various cultures and it is important for us to help educate the public and the government about the issues the women are facing. This is also where I get to enhance my skill in providing a safe and a non-judgmental environment for women and I really enjoy working here.

The first job I got that is related to my program is working with women who are experiencing barriers to accessing treatments. This is where I started to love helping and supporting women whose lives have been impacted by their misuse of substances and who suffered from poverty, homelessness, violence, and exploitations.

There is a lot more to learn and I am so glad that DASSH program became my stepping stone and allowed me to experience and explore new opportunities.
